Summary of Position 
 The National Geographic Books Department is looking for a part-time intern for the fall. The intern will assist the Editor-in-Chief and senior editors with editorial and research projects, various research activities, and participate in meetings. 
 Internship Responsibilities 
 - Learn how to enter editorial changes in book files;
 
- Assist with proofreading and small writing assignments;
 
- Assist in various research activities such as fact-checking, picture research, outline research, and compiling bibliographies;
 
- Observe how to maintain resource lists for multiple books;
 
- Assist editors with organizing libraries, taking notes for meetings, and entering notes into databases. 
 Minimum Education & Experience 
 Must be enrolled and matriculated in baccalaureate degree program. Completion of at least two years of college level courses related to field of interest in English, History, Communications, or Geography. 
 Knowledge & Skill Requirements 
 Excellent communication and computer skills; knowledge of Word and Excel software - knowledge of in design a plus; excellent research skills; multi-tasking skills helpful enjoys varied projects in a deadline driven environment.
