Project Summary: AED is known as one of the world's foremost international training management organizations and the staff of its Center for Enterprise and Capacity Development is committed to developing innovative solutions to development challenges through training. CECD currently has contracts with the U. S. Agency for International Development (USAID), including FORECAST (Focus on Results: Enhancing Capacity across Sectors in Transition Countries). Under FORECAST, CECD provides technical assistance (such as needs assessments, training, and alumni association development), and placement and monitoring for training. Training programs may occur in the US, the host country or in a third country, and are results oriented according to the specific development needs of the country.
Position Summary: Under the supervision of the program specialist, the intern will provide a variety of assistance on the FORECAST Indonesia task order.
This is an unpaid position. In lieu of compensation, academic credit will be provided.
Essential Job Functions: The intern will be given the opportunity to acquire an understanding of the administration and management of USAID funded training programs by assisting with the research, placement, monitoring and evaluation of various training programs.
Specific tasks will include the following:
- Assist with various monitoring activities of current programs and participants
- Assist with arrival and exit/re-entry orientation activities for long-term participants.
- Tabulate exit questionnaire data from completed programs
- Assist with financial and technical close-out of completed programs
- Perform other administrative duties and supportive tasks as needed

Education: GED or High School Diploma in one of the following or related fields: African Studies, Anthropology, Arab Studies, Asian Studies, Dev, Learning & Instruction, Development Management, Development Studies, Developmental Education, Foreign Affairs, Government & Urban Studies, International Administration, International Development, International Education, International Training & Education, Middle East, Religion/International Studies and Third World Studies required. Bachelors preferred.
Experience: 1 year(s) of relevant experience required
Specific Knowledge Requirements:
Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program required
Skills: - Strong interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
- Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with high degree of accuracy
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent computer skills including use of word processing, databases and spreadsheets
- Ability to search for information on the internet
